Publisher's Summary

An exciting, thrilling, complete doctor romance novel...No cliffhanger!

Ari Jones is a strong, beautiful, independent black woman who has everything she’s ever wanted except a good man who will stick around. When a sudden illness sends her to the emergency room, her fears of death are eased by a hot surgeon who seems interested in treating more than just her pesky appendix. After a recent breakup, Ari’s not sure she’s ready to offer her heart to someone so soon. Especially to a man who seems too good to be real - and may not be ready to commit.

Dr. Luke Collins is a tall, muscular, handsome hunk, but isn’t the staying type. He’s traveled the world, offering surgical care to those in need. However, something about luscious Ari makes the thought of leaving again bittersweet. After a forbidden night in her hospital room, Luke realizes he’s closer than ever to putting down roots, but his time to leave is getting closer. When a secret is revealed, Luke realizes Ari might not give him the chance to make the right choice: stay or go?

The cover does not match the story

This was s very quick listen. I did not have any issue with the concept of this book however the narration was not the best. The fact that the MC's, Ari, best friend had the sassy (yes the author used sassy) black woman attitude was annoying. Not every black woman says mmmmhhhhhhmmmm. Like I know that we are supposed to be angry with Luke, the male MC, but all of the black women stereotypes drive me nuts.

Luke was not a bad character not neither was Air. I would have liked the transitions to be smoother but realizing this is the author's first published book I can understand. The book was not bad at all. Just be prepared to roll your eyes a bit when the BFF, Tanesha, comes in.

SN: I have no idea why the woman on the cover is pregnant because Ari IS NOT at all pregnant in this book.

So good, but too short!

This story was really good. It was way too short. It left thinking the wedding could have been added, meeting both sides of the family. It was a good story line, but way too short!

Good Read

The Doctor’s Secret: A BWWM Interracial Romance (Urban Steamy Contemporary Book One) was a good read by Destiny Jackson. Ari has everything that she wants except for a man by her side. She winds up having a sudden illness that sends her to the emergency room. There she meets a surgeon who wants to do more than fix her appendix. This was a good quick read about Ari and Dr. Luke.

I dislike misleading art

I would rate higher, but the cover is misleading. I thought this was going to be about a secret baby.

Quick and Different

"I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review."

Quick read and a bit unique (for me) - I haven't read very many doctor-patient romances. The narration was pleasant and the content was enjoyable (though a bit repetitive at times). I'd definitely read/listen to something else by the author. 3 out of 5 wine glasses.

Meh all around

Nothing particularly good or bad (cover is confusing as she isn’t pregnant) has light sex and light romance but nothing deep or meaningful, if you’re looking for a quick fix and it’s cheap give it a shot

Short, sweet and sexy

I really enjoyed listening to this audible. Good storyline and interesting enough to hold my attention.

The narrator has a nice soothing voice but needs to work on male voices.

Instalove!

Sometimes there are circumstances when you just know you are in love. Ari is sent to the hospital with severe abdominal pains. When Luke comes in to diagnose and take care of her, there attraction is just not lust. But it can't be love that fast, can it? With Luke as a doctor who roams from place to place, is it finally time to settle down for love? This is a fast listen, easy to connect with the characters and hot, hot, hot! A quickie to enjoy! Kyra Cornett does a great job with her narration.
