Publisher's Summary

Now an original series starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine!

In The Dragon Reborn, the third novel in Robert Jordan’s number one New York Times best-selling epic fantasy series, The Wheel of Time®, Rand al’Thor undertakes a journey to prove himself worthy of being the Champion of Light.

Winter has stopped the war - almost - yet men are dying, calling out for the Dragon. But where is he?

Rand al’Thor has been proclaimed the Dragon Reborn. Traveling to the great fortress known as the Stone of Tear, he plans to find the sword Callandor, which can only be wielded by the Champion of Light, and discover if he truly is destined to battle The Dark One. Following Rand, Moiraine and their friends battle Darkhounds on the hunt, hoping they reach the Heart of the Stone in time for the next great test awaiting the Dragon Reborn.

Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® by Robert Jordan has captivated millions of readers around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters. The last six books in series were all instant number one New York Times best sellers, and The Eye of the World was named one of America's best-loved novels by PBS's The Great American Read.

Featured Article: The Best Female Narrators You Can Listen To All Day

When considering a new audiobook, one of the biggest questions listeners have is whether they’ll enjoy the narration style. This is understandable as audiobooks span at least a few hours, and sticking with one person’s voice for that period can feel like a big commitment. Luckily, there are so many excellent voice actors performing audiobooks that you might just find yourself gravitating to certain audiobooks based solely on the narrator’s strength.

Title

I found Book three to be even better than one or two. All storylines in this book are very entertaining. Mat's luck is very interesting. Perrin's falcon is a fun new character. The three hunting for the black ajah is tense and engrossing.
I am actually glad Rand is not a main character. I remember having read this years ago and finding him to be a bit annoying. But at least there is finally growth in his character.
Unfortunately, Perrin takes on Rand's role (and continues his own) of whiner in this one. There is a ton of "I never asked for this" GoT Season 8 vibes throughout the series that continues into book three.
That said, the characters mostly begin to accept their roles in the story by the end.
I still do not understand the constant blaming of Moiraine for everything. Nynaeve should have by now moved past the thought that this is somehow all Moiraines fault just because she is the one who went to Emonds Field.

There are a few errors in the audiobook which surprised me because I'd never heard errors like this before. For example Kramer says something like, "Perrin was too tired and hungry to worry about being respectful. And too hungry too, he realized". The third word there should be "angry". In another part, he says Lan "decided" to move like a shadow during a fight. The word in the book is "seemed". He seemed to move like shadow. How does something like this get through editing?
Otherwise again expertly read by Kramer and Reading

Wheel of Time

I find its a really good book/series. In my mind Robert Jordan is one of the best authors out there. He knows how to write a story. As of yet i have not found a book of his i didn't like. I find this book is a bit fater paced and Matrim my favorite character is a bit more in this one.

The story keeps getting better

It has taken me until this book to believe in Jordan’s vast scope and the dual narrators delivery of the story. While I would say there are more diverse and entertaining narrators out there, they get the job done. Jordan is proving to me his mastery of story telling and I’m totally sold on continuing this epic series! #Audible1

Repetitive

The story was a bit repetitive. The same things were happening over multiple times in the same story. Not as coherent as the first two.

It all comes together!

A great conclusion to the first 3 story Arc. This is my first WoT read-through, and it's obvious to me now how much this has influenced a lot of other novels and series I have read in the genre or trope. Love it! Here I go on the next 10 books haha.

A story for listening

I loved reading this series decades ago. To me, even better to head them told and by such excellent tellers.

Great story with a different focus than the past 2

This Dragon Reborn shows that the story does not have to be from the perspective of its titular character. Instead focusing on the others from Emond's Field and leaving Rand to very brief passages in the book. This book really deepens their characters, and now they feel less like just support for Rand. Narration was great as always.
