Histoire
The tales of The Silmarillion are set in an age when Morgoth, the first Dark Lord, dwelt in Middle-earth, and the High Elves made war upon him for the recovery of the Silmarils, the jewels containing the pure light of Valinor. Included on the recording are several shorter works. The Ainulindalë is a myth of the Creation and in the Valaquenta the nature and powers of each of the gods is described. The Akallabêth recounts the downfall of the great island kingdom of Númenor at the end of the Second Age, and Of the Rings of Power tells of the great events at the end of the Third Age.

A young, naïve but ultimately courageous hedge knight, Ser Duncan the Tall towers above his rivals—in stature if not experience. Tagging along is his diminutive squire, a boy called Egg—whose true name is hidden from all he and Dunk encounter. Though more improbable heroes may not be found in all of Westeros, great destinies lay ahead for these two . . . as do powerful foes, royal intrigue, and outrageous exploits. Featuring more than 160 all-new illustrations by Gary Gianni, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a must-have collection that proves chivalry isn’t dead—yet.

Histoire
J.R.R. Tolkien famously described the Second Age of Middle-earth as a ‘dark age, and not very much of its history is (or need be) told’. And for many years readers would need to be content with the tantalizing glimpses of it found within the pages of The Lord of the Rings and its appendices, including the forging of the Rings of Power, the building of the Barad-dûr and the rise of Sauron.

With its brilliant and brutal portrayal of the Corleone family, The Godfather burned its way into our national consciousness. This unforgettable saga of crime and corruption, passion and loyalty continues to stand the test of time, as the definitive novel of the Mafia underworld. A #1 New York Times bestseller in 1969, Mario Puzo's epic was turned into the incomparable film of the same name, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. It is the original classic that has been often imitated, but never matched.

Description
This brand-new unabridged audiobook of The Fellowship of the Ring, the first part of J. R. R. Tolkien’s epic adventure The Lord of the Rings, is read by the BAFTA Award-winning actor, director, and author Andy Serkis.
In a sleepy village in the Shire, a young hobbit is entrusted with an immense task. He must make a perilous journey across Middle-earth to the Cracks of Doom, there to destroy the Ruling Ring of Power - the only thing that prevents the Dark Lord Sauron’s evil dominion. Thus begins J. R. R. Tolkien’s classic tale of adventure, which continues in The Two Towers and The Return of the King.

Easy to listen to and get lost in Middle Earth
Since hearing The Hobbit read by Andy Serkis I've wanted him to read the trilogy. I've tried other narrators but couldn't get stuck in. 10/10 highly recommend, he brings an already fantastic book to life with his absolute fantastic performance. It seems you can feel his love for the material in every line and seems to make a few nods to the Peter Jackson LoTR trilogy in his accent and performance choices, fun Easter eggs for the movie lovers!

Andy Serkis is fantastic
The books speak for themselves, but in audio form, they can really only be as good as the narrator. Andy Serkis is absolutely fantastic. It feels as though we are listening to different people narrating. Fantastic job!

I always believed these books to be long drawn out snorefests. I never could get through any Tolkien books or audio, until now! The amazing performance by Andy Circus made this an immersive experience of a lifetime! I honestly have nothing negative to say.
I love D&D so this was great to hear the origin. Also the story itself has some profound philosophy in it. Might even catch some hakuna matata…
Seriously, get this book.

Amazing narration
This is a wonderful book of course, but it’s made even more thrilling when narrated by such a talented voice actor. His range and depth makes him one of the best I’ve ever experienced. So worthwhile to hear again or reread so to speak.
