This audiobook completely surprised me—in the best way.

I expected a dark fantasy, but I didn’t expect the story to be set in our world, with familiar places turned into something dangerous and unpredictable. That twist made the story feel even more immersive.

The pacing is fast, the writing is engaging, and the characters quickly pulled me in. I especially loved the banter between the characters—it added warmth, tension, and personality even in the middle of survival.

The General is a fascinating character—powerful, mysterious, and layered—and every scene with him kept me hooked.

But what truly elevated this experience was the narration. The performances brought the story to life and made every moment feel real and emotional.

The ending left me wanting more, and I’m already looking forward to the next book.

This was so good! I’m a huge Greek mythology fan and I had no idea what I was getting into - but this dystopian/apocalyptic story with myth monsters and a best friend and a general fascinated with the fmc?! yes please!! I devoured this and bought all the books
