Not for closed minded
This hypothesis is very interesting and been following this train of thought for decades now but kinda like simulation theory both very plausible and also improbable, but super fun for us Star Wars and Star Trek fans thanks for great insights, yours truly a Canadian always looking to sky.

Food for thought
A very interesting perspective of how we came to be supported by very well researched evidence. Some parts of the book go into very intricate details making the story a little dry, but overall a very good book.

Great point of view
I really enjoyed the eye opening nature of this book. It makes your see things in an alternate light and does so in a way that is easy to follow. Well done

Interesting premise
Interesting theory but not convincing. He assumes reader believes in extraterrestrial beings snd the is no alternative explanation of his facts.

Scattershot Contentions
By the time Erich von Däniken gets around to arguing *for* a theory of the origins of humanity, he's become disorganized (apparently overwhelmed by the volume of data). The majority of his evidence for an extraterrestrial source is based on traditional myths from around the planet (Greek, Polynesian, Hebraic, etc.) and is presented as a conglomeration - as though he is trying to prove his point by throwing as big a pile of unconnected evidence as he can gather. Don't get me wrong, the legends are well-compiled and described nicely.. but they're poorly connected and the 'plethora dump' debate technique doesn't impress me (von Däniken could have formed them into a cogent thesis).
Adding to my "Meh" assessment of the book is the author's establishing "Biology-is-Wrong, Physics-is-Wrong, Chemistry-is-Wrong, Mathematics-is-Wrong, Geology-is-Wrong" attempt in the first half of the book to encourage readers to set aside preconceptions. That message is backed up with examples of essentially random conflicting findings that "prove" Science's folly.
(Note: I personally agree that claiming that we "know" our universe reveals incredible hubris.. but the author's absolute denial of accumulated knowledge is baffling. A single finding that "doesn't fit" means that you reformulate the theory.. not abandon it.)
Blackstone Audio engineers do a creditable job supporting reader Sean Runnette, but his capable narration is unspectacular. Admittedly, his reading is more than adequate, but another professional reader could have provided similar quality.
If you're interested in the Annunaki/Panspermia theories of human history - and you can get this 5/10 star book as a 'Plus' selection - 'The Gods Never Left Us' is an acceptable thought-provoking distraction for a few hours. If you're asked for a Credit, however, you would be better served spending it on some Zecharia Sitchin or Chris Topaz.
