Publisher's Summary

Goon but not forgotten. From 1952 to 1960 the Goons ruled the airwaves, the most celebrated and influential clowns in the history of radio. Here's a crazy quartet of cult comedy classics from those wireless wizards Peter Sellers, Spike Milligan, and Harry Secombe. This collection features "The Dreaded Batter Pudding Hurler of Bexhill-on-Sea", "The Histories of Pliny the Elder", "The Jet Propelled Guided Naafi", and "The Evils of Bushy Spon".

Goon with the wind

No apologies, just a straight 5 stars. If you're a Goon fan, you don't need my opinion. If you've never heard them, please do yourself a favour and try one of the audiobooks. You wont regret it. Anarchic humour at its best.

Good enough for Python troupe when kids...

...and still good enough for my modern 9-yr-old boy. Thanks to the Goon Show, the miles flew by during a Christmas roadtrip to Grandma's. Thoroughly enjoyed by the grown-ups and kid, alike. Peals of laughter from all. Lots of play-on-words humor. According to Wikipedia, indeed, the guest star was not cooperating with the script and the cast had to punt. Only a very small amount was hard to follow due to the accents.

Insane fun

Truly the finest listening experience one can have while avoiding the threat of Nazis, hunger, poverty and class warfare.

An incredible show, some sound issues

Jokes are hillarious and stories are timeless, but occasionally the volume would blast my headphones and give me a headache. Still 100% worth it.
