Description
The first time you meet someone, you make eye contact. You smile, say hello. Should be simple, if you're anyone but me.
The first time I met Dylan Reed, I found myself making eye contact with a different part of his body. You see, I'm very good at being shy, not to mention extremely well-versed in rambling nonsense and, unfortunately, rather highly skilled at making a fool of myself in front of a guy I'm attracted to. At the time, I knew nothing about him and thought none of what I said would matter since I'd never speak to him again. Turns out, I was very wrong.
He was the star wide receiver of the football team, one of the few players expected to make it into the NFL, and I ended up seeing him all over campus. I might have also propositioned him, run away from him, attacked him with a cooking utensil...and...uh, maybe I shouldn't tell you all of it. It's pretty normal stuff, things you'd expect...from me.
Eventually, the time came when I couldn't hide anymore - not that he'd have let me even if I tried. Before now, he never knew I was secretly watching him. Now that we see each other every day, he knows when I have a hard time looking away. It doesn't help that I'm not the most subtle person in the world either. He smiles at me and tells me he finds me fascinating because of my quirks. I can't even tell him that I think my heart beats differently whenever he's around.
He thinks we're going to be best friends. I think I have a big thing for him, and the more I get to know him, the more I don't care that I'm not allowed to be his friend, let alone fall for him. The thing is, that's exactly what I'm doing - what we're doing, I think. Falling. Hard.

Slow burn in the best way!
I’m usually not a fan of slow burns at all but I was pleasantly surprised with this one. I really like the story line and how it ended but I wasn’t a huge fan of the male narrator. His voice just isn’t my favourite but I loved the female narrator. It was really long but I found it didn’t actually ramble on that much unlike other slow burns. I think the charters were very well written and I could definitely relate to them both in different ways. Definitely recommend!

Very sweet storyline
I want a man like Dylan, he has the masculine side and sweet adorable loving side. Story leaves you feeling good. Definitely worth listening too.

Couldn’t stop listening!
Loved every bit of this book. It was never boring. Enjoyed thoroughly! Great narration from both narrators, although it was a bit ear grating to hear Zoey’s voice from the male narrator but you get used to it. Asides from that I loved the main characters. Like no one was annoying, they had good communication with each other. Their romance built up very nicely and at a good pace, it was believable. I don’t like when books make one character annoying but you’re kind of forced to like them because they are the main character, this was not that book and I appreciate that. All characters were lovely ❤️ except you know who, but read the book and find out 🙂

Great book, weird female voice impressions
Really liked the book, but the male narrators female voice was a disappointment. It was a very nasal, whiny voice which was fairly irritating.

Why just read it once?
I loved this book so much I’ve listen and read it a few times, never gets old. Love the Characters, they are fantastic. The voices that they had picked out fantastic really draw you in. Can’t get enough of it!!

Loved everything about this story
Ella Maise never ceases to amaze me with her stories. This pulls on my heart strings with the toxic relationships and violence and the love that was found between these two roommates. Trigger warning: mentions of rape, on page assault and abusive assholes.

Enjoyable and fun
Really enjoyed the story. Was personally hoping for more football action but that’s just the sports lover in me. Happy listener.

Good story
I enjoyed the story but the male narration voice when speaking as the female almost ruined the whole book. Hard to listen to his parts at times. Otherwise, I enjoyed the story

Sports/college romance
Cute, funny, slowburn love story. Zoe is a very shy, quirky college girl who meets Dylan Reed, in a very embarrassing way. This gets Dylan's attention. The story spans in a 3 year period, there is a secret/twist in the story. It was a very fun entertaining read.
