Publisher's Summary

All year the half-bloods have been preparing for battle against the Titans, knowing the odds of victory are grim. Kronos's army is stronger than ever, and with every god and half-blood he recruits, the evil Titan's power only grows.

While the Olympians struggle to contain the rampaging monster Typhon, Kronos begins his advance on New York City, where Mount Olympus stands virtually unguarded. Now it's up to Percy Jackson and an army of young demigods to stop the Lord of Time.

In this momentous final book in the New York Times best-selling Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, the long-awaited prophecy surrounding Percy's 16th birthday unfolds. And as the battle for Western civilization rages on the streets of Manhattan, Percy faces a terrifying suspicion that he may be fighting against his own fate.

Poor narration

This cool concept story is entertaining for kids and the plot and characters are enjoyable. However, Jesse Bernstein's narration is very poor. His voices aren't consistent, his intonation and interpretation are rarely accurate. I often found it confusing when he changed a characters voice mid story or read something incorrectly. It's a pretty tall order to do a series with so many different voices and Jesse does not have what it takes. It seemed as though there was no preparation what-so-ever. His narrating took away from the story, a very poor choice! When you consider the cost to purchase this audiobook, the expectation is for a professional actors performance.

An amazing ending with some mediocre voice acting

This book is just so fantastic. I truly love this series. It's such a breathtaking ending and it wraps up so many things yet leaves from for Heroes of Olympus.
But the voice acting really impacts the series. I noticed more with this book than any other that the characters voices change half way through a scene. There is also some really odd choices made such as with Persephone who also seemed to be switched up half way though with Demeter. Also taking into account that voices for bipoc characters are often stereotypical and racist. The head of the Demeter cabin and Ethan Nakajima sounds the exact same and both like something out of the 1950s.

I CRY EVERY TIME I FINISH THE SERIES…

I’ve read all the Rick Riordan’s stories about the gods, including Ashard, and Egyptian and the gang who are hidden away in California. I’ve read and listened to them all so many times. This time I completed this series with the help of Jessie Bernstein over a 5 day period while in the hospital. It helped me keep my mind off of why I was there. I do love all the characters the way he does them. It’s all fun.
I did read through all the comments about Demeter and Persephone voices being wrong, but I disagree, first who’s to say Persephone’s voice isn’t harsh from being in underworld on and off for so many years. Plus I never knew that there was an expert out there who knows how they should speak. Just a thought.
I love knowing who the person is before he says because I recognize their voices.
Sorry just thought that should be out there.
Rick Riordan your imagination is amazing and I am always looking forward to more. I really can’t wait for the Percy Jackson series coming next month.
Thank you so much these books are not just for children my family who loves your books, we range from 30-62. 🫶🫶🫶

Good book, bad narrator

Though Jesse's performance often leaves something to be desired and misses the tone of the writing, the story makes up for it.
