Publisher's Summary

A Reese's Book Club x Hello Sunshine pick, November 2018

Okay y'all, it's spooky season, and my November Reese's Book Club X Hello Sunshine book pick—The Other Woman by Sandie Jones—has one of the most twisted and entertaining plots. When Emily meets Adam, she thinks she's found the one—but it's not long before another woman tries to ruin their relationship. And folks...that woman is HIS MOTHER. I can't wait for y'all to finish it because I NEED to discuss that ending with you! X Reese

The Reese Witherspoon X Hello Sunshine Book Club pick for November and USA Today best seller

The Other Woman by Sandie Jones is the most twisty, addictive, and binge-worthy debut audio thriller you'll hear this year.

He loves you: Adam adores Emily. Emily thinks Adam’s perfect, the man she thought she’d never meet.

But she loves you not: Lurking in the shadows is a rival, a woman who shares a deep bond with the man she loves.

And she'll stop at nothing: Emily chose Adam, but she didn’t choose his mother, Pammie. There’s nothing a mother wouldn’t do for her son, and now Emily is about to find out just how far Pammie will go to get what she wants: Emily gone forever.

The Other Woman will have you questioning her in every chapter.

This program includes a bonus conversation with the author.

Great twist but the middle is unbearable

For the first time in all the years I've listened to audiobooks, I found myself skipping ahead. The bulk of the story was excruciating because it is just so unrealistic. No person in real life will allow so many things to be done to them without saying a word.

You will forget your surroundings

I listen to 3-4 books a week and it's so rare to find a psychological thriller with twists I see a mile away. Other faves include Anonymous Girl, all of Ruth Ware, Peter Swanson (I love when other reviewers do this so I can hold up their 5 stars with books I do/do not like!) It's British, dramatic, well written, brilliantly performed...

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING

The story and the narrator were incredible. Clare Corbetts performance was enthralling and the story had me guessing until the very last moments. I got this book on a whim quickly before boarding a flight and listened to the entire thing in one go. A rollercoaster of a story with no obvious ending - a great plot twist! Highly recommend it

Yikes

I have a tough time with protagonists who stand in their own way, eg: The Woman in The Window or The Girl on The Train. I like my main characters to be hardier, intelligent and make thoughtful decisions. This wasn't a main character I could look up to, and her prideful stubbornness to leave an ever worsening situation was frustrating. I also found the couple's relationship unbelievable as I picked up on clues the author left fairly early on (points for her). As someone who would never tolerate that knobhead's behaviour or allow a situation to unravel so messily, it was a dragging listen. There is a neat twist at the end, but nothing I didn't figure out halfway through. Would be a fun twist for the casual reader for sure.

I agree with another reviewer: if you love strong, independent female characters this probably won't be for you. Honestly, I liked Revenge Wears Prada better than this lol.

Great plot twist!

While slow to start, this story delivers a juicy twist and an enjoyable conclusion that made it all worth it.

I didn't love the story as a personal preference, but it was well written and performed.
