Publisher's Summary

Few first novels have created as much popular excitement as "The Pickwick Papers" - a comic masterpiece that catapulted its 24-year-old author to immediate fame. Readers were captivated by the adventures of the poet Snodgrass, the lover Tupman, the sportsman Winkle and, above all, by that quintessentially English Quixote, Mr Pickwick, and his cockney Sancho Panza, Sam Weller.

From the hallowed turf of Dingley Dell Cricket Club to the unholy fracas of the Eatanswill election, via the Fleet debtor's prison, characters and incidents sprang to life from Dickens's pen, to form an enduringly popular work of ebullient humour and literary invention.

Audio quality is terrible.

Audio quality is terrible. Recommend finding a different version. Opening also in German for some reason.

Amateurish Performance Spoils Book

This is the worst rendition I have listened to in the 15 years I've been a member. I love Dickens, but the narrator reads too fast, runs sentences together, and has no sense of the cadence of dialog. There are other performances of Pickwick Papers in the Audible library. Select a different narrator.

Well-intentiond,, but a bonafide Nit-wit who managed to walk through carnage and salvage only the good! An interesting listen! THANK you, Auible!
