Publisher's Summary

You can dissect and analyze your issues for decades, but nothing will actually resolve them and change your life like The Presence Process.

Author Michael Brown shows us how it's possible to experience awareness of the present moment without having to take the long, challenging path most of us usually take as we attempt to live in the "now".

We all long to be free of our discomfort and experience inner peace. However, the attempt to get rid of our discomfort is misguided. We're not broken and don't need to be "healed". Our difficulty is that our deeply suppressed emotional imprints from childhood distract us from an awareness of the present moment. Until this emotional charge from our past is integrated, our attempts to quiet our thoughts and access the peace, joy, and love that are bedrock to our being are of only limited success. Since presence is universal, it has the ability to manifest in our daily experience the very circumstances required for us to integrate the dysfunction that keeps us from experiencing the radiance of present moment awareness. We are each responsible for determining the quality of our personal experience, and The Presence Process guides us in taking responsibility for our emotional integration. It's a way to consciously "grow up".

Unlike anything else I’ve experienced.

This book really surprised me in its approach to attaining present moment awareness through meditation and understanding the concepts that allow us to view our lives in a less chaotic way. He defines “reacting” vs “responding” to life among many other clarifications that really helped and solidified my desire to not be so attached to my thoughts.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has explored meditation and mindfulness or not, with success or not. A step-by-step process that was very grounding and empowering. For those who have maybe relied on others too much for healing and are still struggling. A solid path, it’s changed me for sure and I’ll be reading/doing this again.

Ready?

I believe I was ready! Integration is a process that is lifelong. Some of the author's idea are familiar and some are quite new. I recommend this book. I found it enlightening.

Saved my life

This was an introduction to a new journey for me. I will be incorporating this process to my every day life. I am so grateful. I went through a 2 year court battle and this book gave me the tools to show up for myself and respond rather than react.i have grown up emotionally when I needed to through the hardest time of my life.

Great book, not great audio

I enjoyed this book but I did not enjoy the audio and narrator for the audiobook. It would have been much better if the audio was cleaned up or re-did the whole thing, maybe with a different narrator.
I still recommend it.
