The White House is the home of the president of the United States, the most guarded, monitored, closely watched person in the world. So how could a US president vanish without a trace? And why would he choose to do so?

An unprecedented collaboration between President Bill Clinton and the world's best-selling novelist, James Patterson, The President Is Missing is a breathtaking story from the pinnacle of power. Full of what it truly feels like to be the person in the Oval Office - the mind-boggling pressure, the heartbreaking decisions, the exhilarating opportunities, the soul-wrenching power - this is the thriller of the decade, confronting the darkest threats that face the world today, with the highest stakes conceivable.

The President single-handedly saving the world all by himself by sneaking out under cover - I don't think so. The premise is foolish and way too hard to believe. I was hoping for more.

Too Sensational for me...

I loved the end, where are president, spoke about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, which is very poignant considering what is happening in the US at this time.

Great listen.

The gravelly, marbles in mouth diction of Dennis Quaid was really distracting. I found it relieving when he wasn’t reading/speaking certain chapters.

Dennis Quaid should stick to acting

Caprivatong start. Long through the middle, a good plot twist, political at the finished. I like Bill Clinton. but didnt need his philosophy in a final speech. I thought it took a pretty good book abd made it a politc treatice.

Good plot, weak doalogy

I wanted to read this book simply because I thought it was so interesting that a former President of the United States had written a mystery with one of the best authors of the day. Who else would know about that secret passage, or could describe the details of a famed room in so much detail? So the book was fascinating in that regard. The story was pretty good, but what I came away with most was a sense of what it must be like to live in the POTUS bubble, and the freedom of driving away from the White House, all alone, in a disguise, and entering a cafe or ball park and not being recognized. The current occupant aside, I imagine its a fantasy of any President, so it was intriguing to hear how he must have imagined such an escape unfolding. Lots of drama follows, but it was less entertaining to me than the disappearance itself.

A bubble escape story

Who knew that when you mix an author with a penchant for murder mystery with a former President, that you could come up with a political thriller with non-stop action.
I was kind of leery when I saw the book originally, but having read almost all of James Patterson's novels, I decided to give the book a chance, and I'm very glad I did.
Combining Bill Clinton and James Patterson created a spectacular novel with a story line that was fast paced, with a very plausible plot line. (no spoiler alerts here)
A President who wants to do the best for his country, undertakes what he knows to be an almost impossible task, while under constant supervision not only personally but professionally as well.
I started listening to this book while driving home and was so impressed with the characterizations, the narration and the story that I couldn't put it down. I listened to the whole book in one sitting.
Dennis Quaid was the perfect choice for the narrator for the parts he played, with an excellent talent for the accents necessary to develop the story. January LaVoy was another great choice for the female part narration.
You will not regret using a credit on this book.

One of the best political thrillers I've read
