Summary
Becky Raber is a young widow, seven months pregnant. She’s alone, scared, and misses her late husband. Her only close relative is her cousin, Doris. Becky has no choice but to live with Doris and her husband, Abel Yoder, a stern, dour man. He’s determined to find Becky a new husband, marry her off, and get her out of his house
