Publisher's Summary

An American girl finds her prince in this "fun and dishy" (People) royal romance inspired by Prince William and Kate Middleton.

American Bex Porter was never one for fairy tales. Her twin sister Lacey was always the romantic, the one who daydreamed of being a princess. But it's adventure-seeking Bex who goes to Oxford and meets dreamy Nick across the hall - and Bex who finds herself accidentally in love with the heir to the British throne.

Nick is wonderful, but he comes with unimaginable baggage: A complicated family, hysterical tabloids tracking his every move, and a public that expected its future king to marry a Brit. On the eve of the most talked-about wedding of the century, Bex looks back on how much she's had to give up for true love...and exactly whose heart she may yet have to break.

Fluffy Fairytale Romance

I have been in a reading dry spell lately. So, a fluffy romance was just what I needed.

The Royal We was a perfect choice; I had been eyeing the book on audible for awhile, and I finally decided to give it a try.

I found that the Royal We captured my attention at the beginning of the story and held on until the end. I had a difficult time putting the book down at night. The plot to this book a blatantly obvious parallel to Will and Kate.

The plot to this book is a blatantly obvious parallel to Will and Kate; which, as a Royal Family enthusiast, I found wonderfully charming to read.

The characters were quirky, and appealing to the reader. My only complaint with the characters is that I found Bex's twin to be irritating and narcissistic. However, it was not enough of an issue to ruin the book.

Additionally, I believe that Christine Lakin did an excellent job narrating the story. I would listen to more books narrated by her.

Overall, this was a cute story that didn't have a deep or complex plot; perfect for summer.

I would, without a doubt, recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a fluffy, fairytale romance.

Great story

This was a great story (I would read someone else review on more about the actual story), the only things that bothered me was the music between sections of the book and at the end. It was not enough that I would not listen to it again, but it was unexpected and strange. It might have been better if the song choice was different, but it certainly did not make this audio book better which is what brought the performance and overall down 1 star more than it would have had without the music. I also wanted a better ending, or at least a epilogue that tells us about what ends up happening. You get so invested in the villain’s( I am not naming the person due to spoilers) plot and potential punishment but we end up with almost no closure on the reactions after. I personally needed the reactions and ending consequences to make this complete and a perfect story, even if they were only written in one short paragraph, almost anything would have been better. It was a great poetic ending of the final chapter, but a epilogue should have happened.
