Publisher's Summary
The food here is to die for...
Thirty-year-old Allie Treadwell is a singleton. She's a foodie and a runner. A restaurant reviewer by day, and a Netflix aficionado by night.
Even if it doesn’t make her the most popular dinner guest in the charming southern town of Lanai, Georgia, Allie’s reviews are always honest.
And her latest is no different from any other.
But Allie’s review isn’t the only thing to hit the newsstand. The restaurant’s owner and Allie’s one-time high school nemesis, Jessica Hayes, was found murdered. When Jessica’s husband, Miller, is labeled the prime suspect, Allie’s convinced the police are mistaken.
As if dodging the bad press while she works to clear Miller’s name isn't enough, one false step could put the real killer onto her.
Can Allie clear Miller’s name without winding up with the next obituary?
Foodie Files Mysteries are quick reads of around 30,000 words.
This book contains no swearing, no gore, and no cliffhangers.

A quick modern cozy
I'm a big fan of cozy mysteries- but sometimes they seem like they're written by your great Aunt Ethel- and seem pretty dated. Not so with this one! The Salty Taste of Murder has a realistic young main character who is a food blogger who loves Netflix and talks and acts like the young person she is. Even though this book is fairly short- I enjoyed getting to know the characters- and was rooting for the heroine (and her possible love interest?) by the end of the book. I also enjoyed hearing about her food blogs- but if I had a suggestion I'd like to hear more about that in future books- and maybe even include a recipe or two? I'd highly recommend this as a quick modern cozy! (This book was provided to me at no cost in exchange for an honest review)

Tasty fun
This was my first food related cozy. I enjoyed the characters and didn’t see the end coming. The narrator was pretty good but at times did get a little monotone. It wasn’t enough to make me want to stop listening and I’ll get more books in the series. I also grabbed the first in one of the author’s other series.

The Salty Taste of Murder
I am a big fan of cozy mysteries, and a fan of audiobooks I can finish in a day. This series makes me happy. I know some people will complain about character or story development, but you have to keep in mind the length of the book.
The main character is food critic and blogger who has held onto a very strange resentment since high school. This was mentioned so often I thought for sure she would be the primary suspect. She was, but for only like a minute. I enjoyed the mystery, was satisfied with whodunit and why. I will continue to listen to this series.
I thought narrator did a nice job. She was well chosen (cast?) for this series.

Good Narration
Allie is a food critic, takes on being a sleuth , when the husband is accused of murder, when the restaurant owner is found murdered. This is more than a cozy mystery I thought, had a good flowing plot, and believable characters. Given audio which was good and I enjoyed. Given audio for my voluntary review and my honest opinion
