About this listen

New York Times Bestseller

The neuroscientist, medical doctor, and powerhouse author of The Source shares the lost art of listening to your intuition and allowing the signs around you to guide the way to achieving the life of your dreams.

"This is more than a book, it’s a healing experience." — Jay Shetty, #1 New York Times bestselling author and host of On Purpose Podcast

Have you ever thought of someone just before they called? Or experienced a coincidence that felt too unlikely to be true?

It’s all too easy to dismiss synchronicities or signs like these as chance. But what if they weren’t? And what if, by learning to tune into them, you could access a guiding wisdom that would help you overcome challenges and cultivate personal growth?

In this groundbreaking book, world-renowned neuroscientist Dr. Tara Swart explains how. Bringing together breathtaking real-life stories with teachings from cognitive psychology, near-death experiences, and much more, she’ll show you how to:

  • Tap into your most important decision-making tool: your intuition.
  • Break free from the distractions and stress of modern life and focus on what matters most.
  • Shift your mindset from fixed thinking to openness and wonder, so you can see life’s limitless possibilities.

With compelling theories about the nature of consciousness, and transformative tools to create a deep connection with the signs around you, let this book empower you to trust your instincts and thrive like never before.

I loved this book. I’ve consumed it more than once. From the moment I saw a clip of Dr. Tara Swart on social media, something clicked — an instant sense of connection. I later learned her husband’s name is Robin (my name too) and that he was Canadian (me as well), and the parallels between her story and my own felt magically synchronistic. That feeling followed me through the whole book.

I don’t hold a neuroscience degree. My education comes from lived experience: gathering people’s life stories and spending a season working in death and after-death care. Those experiences gave me a deep, intimate view of grief, ritual, and the small signs people receive. Dr. Tara brings something I don’t have — the scientific research and credentials to give language and legitimacy to what many of us have only ever known in our bones.

Reading The Signs felt like someone finally took the map I’ve been following and drew in the legend. Her research and compassion stitch together lived experience and science in a way that validates what I’ve felt and documented on my podcast. For people who are skeptical, that grounding matters. For people who are grieving, that compassionate clarity matters even more.

This book is comforting and empowering.

P.S. If Dr. Tara reads this: thank you for your bravery and openness. You are seen and deeply appreciated — from this life and beyond. Our ancestors and loved ones feel desperate to get through to us sometimes, and I hope this book helps people notice and use that help. It’s so powerful — thank you.

Nothing new, useful, advisable or even helpful. An assemblage of magical thinking, anecdotes, at best confirmation bias, but most likely made up,

This book is to neuroscience what Deepak Chopra’s books are to quantum physics. It is cheap, sentimental, attempt to coerce the reader to be credulous and naive. The top end of a sales funnel for therapeutic modalities peddled by charlatans.

Terrible advice.
