Good tips for the modern American, Canadian so so

Being a Canadian some of the topics are relatable but not 100% the same, good story for learning a not so entertaining subject

American version

Canadians, please be aware that this is the American version. Useful, but lots of information provided in the book only concerns american residents.

Beware Canadian listeners!

Excellent introduction to personal finance, however, the original has been adapted here for an American audience. You may need to purchase the original in hard copy to translate this into advice on RRSPs, TFSAs, RESPs, etc.

That being said, most of the information here holds true for Canadians.

great investment ideas but..

This was a great book to get you started on saving and investing your money, I gave it 4 stars only because it is a canadian author, based in a canadian city, using American investment streams...ira etc. all that in kind I think it's still worth a read (or a listen).

US edition

Unfortunately this doesn't specify its the US edition. Canadians will find the specifics less applicable. But the performance is good and the "story" works to keep things flowing.

Entertaining

This book combines the principles found in many other books about financial intelligence, but tells it in a much more entertaining way. Definitely a must-read.

Not the origional version but Americian version

The is based on the American version and not the Canadian version even though it is sold through the Canadian store. Half the book is irrelevant.

It's the American Version

While this book does provide great information and is very practical, I had downloaded it thinking that there was only one version available. Turns out there are two, a Canadian Edition and an American one. I thought there was only a Canadian Edition which confused me at first upon listening to it as he mentioned some very American places and topics. I let it slide at first as I just thought it was part of the Narrative; but as more and more information was given that related only to Americans I started to feel gipped off that all the useful information was slowly becoming useless to me as I am a Canadian.

As I stated previously the book has lost of great and practical information, but only if you live in the US.

Every young person needs this book!

I loved it. Listened to it non stop. I feel our generation is very undereducated in the world of money management and this book explains everything in simple terms. Very highly recommended.

Great book!

I didn't like the amount of idle banter and didn't agree with the advise on investing in mutual funds. Overall I enjoyed and learned from this book.

Do it! The hype is real.

If you could sum up The Wealthy Barber in three words, what would they be?

It is now slightly dated but the basics hold true. If you are making decent money and kinda worried if you are doing the right thing, do it!
