A great story and well read

I read The Witch of Blackbird Pond years ago when I was 12, the best book I had read at the time. It got me interested in colonial history and folklore. I thought of this book recently and bought the Audible version. It was very well narrated by Mary Beth Hurt. She did a great job with the accents and portraying the different characters. I remembered the story as I listened and found that this is still one of my favourite books. Since it was written in the 1950s, it reflects how women and people of colour were seen at that time, so those details are now historical themselves. I noted how things have changed since it was written. I highly recommend this book for people of any age who like historical fiction with a credible storyline and characters.
