The sport she loves is out of reach. The boy she loves has someone else. What now?
She expected to start Harkness College as a varsity ice hockey player. But a serious accident means that Corey Callahan will start school in a wheelchair instead. Across the hall, in the other handicapped-accessible dorm room, lives the too-delicious-to-be-real Adam Hartley, another would-be hockey star with his leg broken in two places. He's way out of Corey's league. Also, he's taken. Nevertheless, an unlikely alliance blooms between Corey and Hartley in the "gimp ghetto" of McHerrin Hall.
Over perilously balanced dining hall trays and video games, the two cope with disappointments that nobody else understands. They're just friends, of course, until one night when things fall apart. Or fall together.
All Corey knows is that she's falling. Hard. But will Hartley set aside his trophy girl to love someone as broken as Corey? If he won't, she will need to find the courage to make a life for herself at Harkness - one that does not revolve around the sport she can no longer play or the brown-eyed boy who's afraid to love her back.

An amazing story loved Calahan and Hartley
loved the book laughed cried and fell in love with the characters. A must read on everyone's book list.

I was wow'd!
2 interesting main characters - 1 male and 1 female. Loved the plot and ending. Kudos to author Sarina Bowen who chose both a male and a femal narrator for each of the main characters thereby making the story line 100% realistic. I look forward to listening to more titles from this author.

Surprising
I just realized this was a series and all the books in the series are free with the Audible membership.
After liking the prequel novella, I tried book 1 in the series and it was nice to listen while my second day migraine was still there, but getting a little better.
The story was nice and I liked that the female main character had a lot of fighting in her.
It was enjoyable and kept me from focusing on the migraine!

Nice slow burn!
These two made for the perfect friends to lovers! Thrown together due to unfortunate circumstances, they quickly found a friendship they both needed, and that undercurrent of attraction, that was held back as much as they could. Mistakes were made, but that only highlighted how much they belonged together, and once that happened, it was full steam ahead <3
