The Map of Consciousness Explained is a compilation of Dr. David R. Hawkins’ lectures on human consciousness and their associated energy fields. Using muscle testing, Dr. Hawkins conducted over 250,000 calibrations during 20 years of research to define a range of values, attitudes, and emotions that correspond to levels of consciousness. In the lectures on this audio download, Dr. Hawkins explains the classifications and energy fields of the Map of Consciousness, making them comprehensible and useful in daily life.

Dr. Hawkins introduces his first lecture in the Sedona Series with an explanation of why he wrote the book, Power vs. Force. He wanted to provide a way for people to move from the everyday linear world of black and white to the less familiar, abstract, nonlinear world without thinking they were moving into a mystical, imaginary realm. He wanted to enlarge the paradigm of reality of science so the intelligent person could comprehend the work and conclude that there was something to look at in the nonlinear domain.

These all-day seminars were held at the Creative Life Center in Sedona, Arizona. In this series, Dr. Hawkins presents the necessary information and steps to follow to reach the state of Enlightenment. In this lecture, Dr. Hawkins addresses the differences between content and context. He calibrates the truth of the statements made during each lecture.

The Satsang Series is an informal bi-monthly event that opens with a few remarks by Dr. Hawkins. He then answers questions from the audience relating to the information presented in his books and lectures on consciousness research and spiritual realities, as well as other spiritual matters and current events. Often described as "unique" and "awesome", Dr. Hawkins' presentations are frequently humorous as well, despite his formal title in the Far East as 'Tae Ryoung Sun Kak Dosa' (the 'Foremost Teacher of Enlightenment').

The now widely known map of calibrated levels of consciousness was presented in Power vs. Force in 1995 and has been translated into all the world's major languages. This was followed by The Eye of the I (2001), I: Reality and Subjectivity (2003), and Truth vs. Falsehood (2005), which explored the levels of truth reflected throughout society. Transcending the Levels of Consciousness returns to the exploration of the ego's expressions and inherent limitations and gives detailed explanations and instructions on how to transcend them.
