Ivermectin is a dirty word in the media. The drug has been derided and declared useless. Doctors have earnestly recorded pleas asking those afflicted with COVID-19 not to take the drug. But why? The War on Ivermectin is the personal and professional narrative of Dr. Pierre Kory, the co-founder of an expert group of physicians, and his plight to alert the world of his group's identification of ivermectin as a highly effective, life-saving, widely available generic medicine with an obvious ability to end the global pandemic.

Description
Featured on 60 MINUTES and Fresh Air
“So surprising and moving and true that I became completely unstrung.” (The New York Times)
Named a best book of the year by: The New York Times, NPR, TIME, Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe, Entertainment Weekly, Southern Living, Publishers Weekly, BookPage, A.V. Club, Bustle, BuzzFeed, Vulture, and many more!
John Green, the acclaimed author of Looking for Alaska and The Fault in Our Stars, returns with a story of shattering, unflinching clarity in this brilliant novel of love, resilience, and the power of lifelong friendship.
Aza Holmes never intended to pursue the disappearance of fugitive billionaire Russell Pickett, but there’s a hundred-thousand-dollar reward at stake and her Best and Most Fearless Friend, Daisy, is eager to investigate. So together, they navigate the short distance and broad divides that separate them from Pickett’s son Davis.
Aza is trying. She is trying to be a good daughter, a good friend, a good student, and maybe even a good detective, while also living within the ever-tightening spiral of her own thoughts.
Ce que les critiques en disent
"Narrator Kate Rudd dramatizes the quick intelligence and high anxiety of high school junior Aza Holmes.... Rudd expresses most strongly Aza's sarcastic inner voice, which is so developed that it becomes a character. The convincing portrayals makes it easy to see how Aza is hindered in loving, thinking, and living without fear." (AudioFile)

John Green does it again.
John Green has left another hole in my heart in a way that only John Green can. He has taken another step to normalize what feels anything but normal. He has given a new breath to a struggle that so many feel they are drowning in. How humanizing to know that even when you are spiraling, you are not alone.

Wow.
Wow. This book was incredible. I felt all this so hard omfg, this was amazing. I hate and love that I relate to this book so well. It’s so well written and it all makes so much sense and I love it. This is a fantastic piece of work with such a strong grip on reality despite it’s fictionality. A fantastic book.

John Green never disappoints!
To be honest, this was my first audiobook. So it took me a little bit to get into it. But not much! I'd say somewhere in chapter 3, whether that was because of the story, or because I needed to get used to listening to someone else read it other than myself. Definitely a new experience lol. But in the end, I loved it! And would highly recommend!

Wow.
I have clinical depression and am currently in treatment, so this really rang out for me. You think that its going to be about the money, but it isn't. It's about Aza. And you don't really see that until later in.

Wonderful story
well I must say that was a delightful novel very compelling well narrated. so many favorite parts.
I usually don't listen to novels or even read them for that matter and the book was not what I thought it was or how it was framed and presented to me but I'm sure glad it was recommended to me and I'm sure glad I took the suggestion cuz I really enjoyed this story. it was very timely and the content very important for me to hear.
mental health is really an issue we all have to deal with either for ourselves or to understand our loved ones well maybe not everybody but maybe.
well done excellent story just love it
