I tried listening three times from beginning, but couldn't get into the story. I feel like I'm listening documentary

This is not a work of fiction, and I soon realized its purpose is to document and share historical details - not merely to entertain. I found it both engaging and disturbing. The author is a first-rate researcher and detective, and takes us through her search for family information and a quest to locate the family who saved a family member's life during the war, in spite of great danger. The story line goes easily back and forth between the current period and the course of the war, re-creating experiences and events in a way that brings them to life. I can highly recommend this to anyone who has an interest in the Holocaust and WW2.
