This book is a new take on a spicy historic romance. As the story unfolds, the character dynamics and events are fairly captivating. The effective emotional layering held my attention in the breaks between spice and mysterious intrigue. The book if fairly well written and narrated apart from one short part that didn't flow well. In one sentence it wasn't clear who was speaking and the narrator also read it with the wrong voice. A simple flub that wasn't overly distracting from the entertainment.
