The guests range from super celebs (Jamie Foxx, Arnold Schwarzenegger, etc.) and athletes (icons of powerlifting, gymnastics, surfing, etc.) to legendary Special Operations commanders and black-market biochemists. For most of my guests, it’s the first time they’ve agreed to a two-to-three-hour interview.

Story
>When South African conservationist Lawrence Anthony was asked to accept a herd of "rogue" wild elephants on his Thula Thula game reserve in Zululand, his common sense told him to refuse. But he was the herd's last chance of survival: they would be killed if he wouldn't take them. In order to save their lives, Anthony took them in. In the years that followed he became a part of their family. And as he battled to create a bond with the elephants, he came to realize that they had a great deal to teach him about life, loyalty, and freedom.

Story
Thrive or die: That's the rule of evolution. Despite this brutal logic, some species have learned to survive in even the most hostile conditions. Others couldn't - and perished. While incremental genetic adaptations hone the physiology of nearly every creature on this planet, there's another evolutionary force that is just as important: the power of choice. In this explosive investigation into the limits of endurance, journalist Scott Carney discovers how humans can wedge control over automatic physiological responses into the breaking point between stress and biology.

Mix of travel inspiration and tips
I have been fortunate to travel quite a bit in my life so nothing was overly ground breaking in this book however it just reaffirms the reasons we travel and why it’s one of humans favourite things to do. The experiences and memories you gain etc. It got me super pumped up to plan more adventures!

Great book on slow travel
This is a great book if you are interested in experiencing the world by blending in with the locals as opposed to a tourist trying to see as many touristy sites as you can. It's a mentality that I can appreciate and align with. The book offers many techniques on how to make it work in various life circumstances. #Audible1
