When Charlie is approached by a long-lost relative to represent a man charged in a local murder, she agrees to meet the prospective client. She and Jack need the money.

But she soon learns the victim’s father is one of the most powerful men in Unicoi County. And he is intent on seeing his son’s killer suffer.

As Jack and Charlie dig into the two cases, they begin to uncover strange connections between them. With pressure mounting, Jack becomes the target of a deeply unhinged enemy who will try to take everything from him, including his sanity, to stop him from discovering the truth.

And even the mighty Joe Dillard is powerless to help.
