Publisher's Summary

#1 New York Times bestselling author Dean Koontz “pulls out all the stops” (Publishers Weekly) in this haunting psychological thriller...

For thirty-five years, Bruno Frye has lived in the shadow of the adopted mother who made his heart beat with constant fear. And even though she died five years ago, the whispers still haunt him in the dark...enough to make him kill - and kill again.

Hilary Thomas is one of his intended victims. And she’s about to learn that even death can’t keep a bad man down...

Worst koontz book. Don’t bother.

Terrible story. Too many threads to try to put together - or maybe he just made it seem that way and the heroes laboured mind numbingly through details to clumsily make it make some sense.

And then you start to wonder about the author when his relish in the perverse becomes strangely boring because it’s too much. And then the “normal” sex becomes creepy to somehow because of the way it is described. I had to fast forward and I have no problem with erotica, but...

Skip this book for one of his others.

If I wanted a porn....

Why does he fill so many pages with basic, cookie cutte, romance porn? Honestly, it made listening to unbearable. Definitely not his best. The narration was a little on the creepy overdone side. He needs to pick a genre...porn or thrillers.
