This provoked thought, well done

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Unlike a few other books on this topic I've listened to, I think this one does a good job of explaining what the Wiccan religion is based on. The author and narrator do a good job of making the content of this book relatable to someone new to Wicca. The author really seemed to understand the audience the book is intended for and it shows. I wouldn't say that I am converting my religion, but I was intrigued enough by the concepts to not summarily dismiss them as fake. Afterall, the concept of belief is one that closely mirrors many other religions requirements of faith, if you really think about it. Definitely a book that made me think, and that's a good thing.

A book about Wicca for the beginner

I received a copy of this audiobook for an honest review.

This audiobook gives a basis on what the practice of Wicca is and some things to think about. It talks about its history, types of Wiccan traditions, and some ideas of supplies for spells, what time of day or year to do spells in, and what things to think about.

The practice of Wicca is all in the beholder, as stated in the audiobook. If you believe in it, then with enough believe, it will happen. If you are skeptical, then this may not be the right book for you. Also, as far as quality of the recording, I think I heard a page move, which took away from the experience.

I gave it four stars overall because it did what it stated it would do: give you an introduction into the world of Wicca.

Good beginning book

Serves as a good entry into the practice of Wicca. Was well thought out and presented in the rather short period of time. The narrator did a good job presenting this overview. I was given a free copy of this audio in return for an unbiased review.

Informative and Enjoyable

This book was better than I thought it might be. As someone with limited knowledge of Wiccan beliefs, I thought this was a really good "Wiccan for Dummies" type of book. No prior experience required, just a brief summary of Wiccan practices.
I would definitely recommend this book for anyone interested in becoming Wiccan, interested in learning more about what it means to "be Wiccan", or anyone that just likes to expand their personal knowledge.

I guess my only real complaint was that I wished it were longer. However, the fact that it's a short listen is the point... It's meant to be a brief overview that won't require a huge time commitment and endless hours of listening. For me, it was perfect for an afternoon break or a morning commute.

The narrator was well chosen as well... Sounded just like I thought the author should. Hopefully, she'll be a narrator in some of my future audiobooks.

I requested and received a free copy of this audiobook from the author, publisher, or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review. I was NOT required to write a positive review and this reflects my honest opinion of the work.

An Introduction to Wicca

This book won't be for everyone and not everyone will believe all that is said but if you listen with an open mind, you just might learn something. I am a practitioner of magic just not a Wiccan yet I enjoy learning about all the various disciplines out there. This book gives a bit of history about Wicca as well as touching on a lot of what Wicca is today: rituals, spells, gods/goddesses, etc. There are many different disciplines out there outside of Wicca and each offer their own culture but if you are looking for a book to explain or teach the Wiccan way, this book is a great start. I have listened to several audio books dealing with Wicca, just to see if they actually offer good information and so on. This book is an excellent source as are others. You just need to check the sample and blurb to see if the book fits your interests. The narration was well done. Barbara Sybal has a nice voice and reads at a comfortable pace.

Better Than a Beginner's Audiobook

Wicca for Beginners was a great listen. To me it was above a beginner level audiobook but I don't practice Wicca. I like it and like to learn about different types of new religiouns although I think it's based on paganism which is in no way new. I share in the same core beliefs as Wicca; do no harm, the holidays, nature, etc. I just don't want to label myself. But this is the good news. I listened to this book with a completely opened mind and have also listened to others like it and I can say that this one seemed to be a step above the others. I enjoy educating myself and I learned more from this book than I had previously known.

This was an excellent audiobook written by Scarlett Wright and perfectly narrated by Barbara Sybal. Barbara had a nice voice to listen to and her pronunciations were spot on. very well done.
