2 Great Books about Wicca
These two books are a great start for those wanting to learn about Wicca and casting spells. There's a lot of information to be had and I would recommend an open mind when listening, otherwise, don't bother. Here are my reviews of the two books included.
Wicca for Beginners
This book won't be for everyone and not everyone will believe all that is said but if you listen with an open mind, you just might learn something. I am a practitioner of magic just not a Wiccan yet I enjoy learning about all the various disciplines out there. This book gives a bit of history about Wicca as well as touching on a lot of what Wicca is today: rituals, spells, gods/goddesses, etc. There are many different disciplines out there outside of Wicca and each offer their own culture but if you are looking for a book to explain or teach the Wiccan way, this book is a great start. I have listened to several audio books dealing with Wicca, just to see if they actually offer good information and so on. This book is an excellent source as are others. You just need to check the sample and blurb to see if the book fits your interests. The narration was well done. Barbara Sybal has a nice voice and reads at a comfortable pace.
This book helps those new to casting spells. It explains how to cast, what you should do when casting and why you should be careful when casting. This is an excellent book to learn about casting. Spells can be as simple or complicated as you are comfortable with. Myself, I find simple intent and focus with an easy chant/mantra to work wonders. You don't have to follow unyieldingly to others standards. What works for them may not work for you or you may not be able to afford what is called for. The important thing to remember is your own comfort level when casting. Scarlett Wright does a wonderful job explaining this without making it sound condescending or trite. BA Sybal does a nice narration. Her voice is smooth, clean and clear. She is easy to understand and reads at a nice pace. If you're looking for a book to explain spells (casting, differences, intent, etc.) then this book is for you.
I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
