Disappointing Final Book In the Series

Having read all the books in The Shetland Series that features Jimmy Perez as the much loved protagonist I was very disappointed. If it was the first in the series and not the last, I would have quit before I was half way through and asked for a refund. Jimmy behaves very badly and childishly. The deterioration of his character reminded me of the way the character of Atticus Finch differed in Go Set A Watchman compared to his character in To Kill A Mockingbird. Spoiler alert- Perez finally gets his act together. The only reason I kept reading was because it was the last book in the series
