Histoire
When Claire Barclay receives news that her beloved stepfather has had a stroke, she's more than a little shaken. Leo is her last real relative, and his own children rarely check up on the old man. Claire and her husband, Art, leave New York and fly back to Scotland to care for him during the summer. Their visit makes clear that Leo is no longer capable of living on his own, but he is determined to stay in his beloved old house. Art comes up with the idea of turning the place into a conference center, thinking they could purchase the place from Leo and build him a cottage on the property.

Description
In number-one New York Times best-selling author Rosamunde Pilcher’s Wild Mountain Thyme, a woman learns to forgive her ex - and herself - when she joins him on a journey where she’ll discover love is always a possibility.
Oliver Dobbs was a writer first and a man second. To him other people were tools. Even though he had broken Victoria Bradshaw’s heart once, when he arrived on her doorstep with a two-year-old son, she found she could not refuse him, and the three of them set out for a castle in Scotland. There, Victoria meets the new laird and finds her crushed spirit awakening.

Pretty Good, but not Rosamunde Pilcher's Best
Wild Mountain Thyme had all the elements I love about Rosamunde Pilcher's audiobooks: beautiful descriptions of the landscape, a soothing narrator, and a bit of romance. I was not as captivated with this story as I have been with other Pilcher stories... the plot seemed a bit thinner than some of her other books.
If you love Rosamunde Pilcher's books, you'll probably enjoy this one. But if you're new to this author, I'd suggest starting with Coming Home, Winter Solstice, or The Shell Seekers over this book.
