Publisher's Summary

Seneca is the complete package. He's smart, sexy, and confident, much to Chevy's annoyance. They've worked with each other for two years, and even though Chevy might secretly find his partner charming and attractive, playful harassment is all they have.

Chevy was born with a unique gift that allows him to go into the memories of others. As detective, he uses this ability to find peace for victims who have been hurt or attacked. He delves into their memories and can pick out minute details that will help them put the criminal behind bars.

But neither Chevy nor Seneca are prepared when they are asked to go into the mind of a serial killer in hopes of finding survivors. They are even more unprepared for the monsters they find inside the man's mind. Drawn into a memory where it's hard to figure out where the truth exists, they realize that there may be more to the serial killer than they originally thought. The dark world draws the two men together in a way they never dreamed. It will take everything Chevy and Seneca can give to stop the darkness that could consume their minds. As the two are forced to face what is keeping them apart, together they realize that there's more to the mind and heart than either of them know.

Such a great listen!

So, I went in to this book hoping it contained the humourous banter that Alice Winter is a master at writing, and it does, BUT it's also a super freaky thriller-type mystery too. I found myself laughing out loud one moment and then wondering how I'm going to fall asleep with that creepy voice in my head! It was a great story, not super predictable, and it was well constructed.

The narrator did a great job (though I have found Joel Leslie characters to sound very samey from book to book in the past, he does a super good job at the creepy voices in this book)!

I'm definitely going to read the next book in the series, but I think I'll take a break with a cozy mystery or something first so I don't lose sleep :D

WOW!

This was so good and Joel Leslie was absolutely amazing. There were times I laughed out loud with the banter between the MC and other times I felt I needed to turn on all the lights. This was a good story with lots of action and Joel brings emotion to the listener.

No witty banter, no laugh out loud, boring

This book tries too hard. One reviewer said witty banter, what witty banter? I found Seneca absolutely annoying, nothing funny, more of a douche and I found the main lead a pushover.

I don’t see them as a couple.

I skipped to chapter 31 and roll my eyes as they seem to be the worst détectives and the author seems intent on them being dumb and on carrying on the non witty banter between the two instead of progressing the story...this is not intriguing and I wonder why this book is so long.

Even Joel Leslie couldn’t save this book. It felt like a lot of his flare wasn’t in this book.

AWESOME

Most enjoyable. The storyline is certainly unusual but totally intriguing throughout. Joel Leslie as always bring all characters into life. Fantastic voice actor. Very fast moving. And lots of tense moments. The humorous banterings (sex related) between the two main characters are well played out and not over-whelming.The plot is excellent and the twist and turns are very good. Alice Winters is a brilliant writer and I hope there will be more books from this series. Absolutely entertaining.
