Publisher's Summary

Agent Cooper Dayton is almost relieved to get a phone call from his former boss at the Bureau of Special Investigations. It means a temporary reprieve from tensions created by house hunting with Oliver Park, his partner both in work and in life. Living together in a forever home is exactly what Cooper wants. He's just not keen on working out the details.

With a former alpha werewolf missing, Cooper and Park are loaned to the BSI to conduct the search at a secluded mountain retreat. The agents will travel to the resort undercover...as a couple in need of counseling.

The resort is picturesque, the grounds are stunning and the staff members are all suspicious as hell.

With a long list of suspects and danger lurking around every cabin, Cooper should be focusing on the case. But he's always been anxious about the power dynamics in his relationship with Park, and participating in the couples' activities at the retreat brings it all to the surface. A storm is brewing, though, and Cooper and Park must rush to solve the case before the weather turns. Or before any more guests-or the agents themselves-end up dead.

Contains mature themes.

Loving this series!

I think I like the narrator now lol His style has really grown on me. I think he had more range, I don't know if that's the right word to use, but there was more to his narration in this book. I enjoyed it.

This book leaned more into character development for Cooper, with him coming to a tough truth about himself and his feelings about moving in with Oliver. The case they were on was interesting, their sexy times was great and over all I loved it!

Better Than The Others In The Series

This one was better than the others in the series, mainly in that there were fewer deceptions between the heroes. I really wish that they'd just discuss things like a healthy couple, but I guess that would defeat the purpose of the plot in this author's way of writing, right?

There were the same issues in this novel, as in the others, in relation to the need for more experienced writing and stronger editing, but it wasn't as painful here as before. There was a lot of telling, rather than showing, a lot of "he could feel..." instead of just telling the reader what the feeling was.

Scene-setting was attempted, but needed more work.

I'm still a bit irked that we don't get to see any of what Oliver is thinking/feeling, and Cooper doesn't seem inclined to have tête-à-têtes with Oliver to discuss things. He says that he "knows" Oliver's facial expressions now, and makes assumptions about what he's thinking based on that. It's all well and good, but I'd still like to get more of an insight into Oliver's head.

Again, the narrator was not good. It seemed like he tried harder to do the secondary characters (of which there were way too many to keep track), but it fell short.

Perfect!

Awesome forth book. The narrator definitely has improved and is really doing the series justice. I think this is my favorite book in the series so far but the series is one of my all time favorites!
