In the future, mankind has learned to manipulate their DNA, harnessing only the good genes, like intelligence, strength, and height. They called this prime DNA and humans rushed to get these new pDNA injections, which gave them superhuman-like qualities. Centuries later, however, their DNA became so engineered that humans rarely lived past the age of 30, thanks to a new deadly disease called the Kiss. The only cure is to receive an injection of oDNA, DNA from an Original human that hasn't been genetically altered. Problem is there aren't many Originals left.

Leaving my husband was hard. Trying to face the world alone with my teenage daughter is the sort of thing nightmares are made of, but I caught a break. My best friend just hired me for a great job, with perks like a rent-free house right beside not just one handsome man, but five! Each one is hotter than the last, and all of them seem interested in me. But everyone around us has these strange golden eyes...and there are the questions no one will answer. And who cares if there's a lot of wildlife running around at night? I do, especially when a wolf keeps sneaking into my backyard.

Now after being in hiding for the last few years, I'm seeing shifters outside of their normal territory, and they're getting closer to my little patch of wolf-free paradise. If they find out I'm still alive, they'll haul me back and mate me to some random wolf, keeping me as a breeding machine to perpetuate our species. Description
For Kate and Logan Danvers, 16-year-old twins of the werewolf Alpha, nothing could ruin a summer faster than the words “supernatural teen leadership conference”. They expected a boring week of earnest political discussions and team-building exercises. Instead, in Wolf’s Bane, they got a crash-course in real-life leadership when the camp imploded and the twins and their new friends fled into the West Virginia forest.
Now, in Wolf’s Curse, the group has taken refuge in a magically warded cabin only to discover that they might have been safer taking their chances with the demon outside. Trapped in a dark witch’s sanctuary, surrounded by hell hounds, the twins will need to hone their leader and team-building skills fast. There are battles to be waged and mysteries to be solved. Friendships to be forged in conflict and lost in betrayal. Even romances spark to life amid the turmoil.
It might not be the way Kate and Logan expected to spend their week, but it will certainly be a summer camp to remember.

I love everything Kelley Armstrong
I find that many of the other review in my opinion are too critical. They seem to forget that teenagers have very poor regard for their wellbeing at times. And lets be honest with brains not fully formed their decision making will not be the same as an adult. So yes can I actually see teenagers thinking a life threatening situation is an appropriate time to discuss certain things such as sexuality and gender and love. Also I did not find the "LGBTQ agenda" forced like others thought. They had a diverse group of characters who are in the peak of trying to understand who they are and how they fit into society. Overall yes I agree it could have been one book but the story itself was well done.

Really enjoyed it and book 1. Definitely need to listen to book 1 first. Definitely a teen drama but, I love fantasy and am somewhat of a hopeless romantic - this book has a lot of both. ✨

Some awkward lines but still a great book series
Overall, I loved the two Kate and logan books. I did find the witch saying she would never insult the male witch by misgendering followed by her saying she is a witch not a bitch a little heavy-handed and awkward especially for her character. Other than that, I enjoyed the book and most of the characters. I really liked the last chapter in particular. I found Logan and Mason's discussion at the end very interesting and it kind of taught me something about myself. I'm not a teenager anymore, but some YA novels can be refreshing and fun to read. I wish there was another book about Elijah joining the pack.

First book was better
not sure why every new novel of every genre has to now be that political and "woke" .
I don't mind different genders and types relationships being woven into a story at all ..... but at one point i was wondering whether it's still supposed to be a super natural story for entertainment or lecture about establishment and CIS "prejudices" .....

I like nonsense supernatural...but this is just no
It has a lot of potential (if you're into the genre), but there's just too many times I've had to ask myself "why?!, why would they do that?", or SMH thinking that would never happen. Just because it's based in a world of supernatural creatures, doesn't give license to be stupid about what decisions all the characters make and oh my god... how much ridiculousness can happen in 20 minutes?! It's just too much. The first book hooked me, the second book spiraled fast. And from a fan of The Vampire Diaries, that says a lot.
