Story
Fred Rogers fiercely believed that all people deserve love. This conviction wasn’t simply sentimental: it came directly from his Christian faith. God, he insisted, loves us just the way we are. In Exactly as You Are, Shea Tuttle looks at Fred Rogers’s life, the people and places that made him who he was, and his work through Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. She pays particular attention to his faith - because Fred Rogers was a deeply spiritual person, ordained by his church with a one-of-a-kind charge: to minister to children and families through television.

Story
Mister Rogers is one of the most beloved television personalities, but before he was the man who brought us Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, he was just little Freddie Rogers. Although he was often sick and had trouble making friends as a child, his mom and grandfather encouraged him to ask for help and explore the world. With their support, he learned how to better say what he was feeling and see the beauty around him. As he grew up, he realized he could spread the message of compassion, equality, and kindness through television.

Short and Sweet
This book is really about development of children (and adults too really but they aren't mentioned) on how to nurture others and love them.
This book is simple, sweet and informative. It's quick to listen to and isn't bogged down with someone who just wants to show you their knowledge. He seems to really care and has simple ways of teaching about life. There's a happy sad reality to it.

How can you not love it?!
It's Mr. Rogers, how can you NOT like the book. It is very interesting and has a lot of info that would be really beneficial to parents and educators. But it is also awesome for anyone else. He is so inspiring and in an odd way, his voice soothes me like I am a child again. I adore him and I loved this book

Not exactly what I was looking for, I was looking for something along the lines for myself but for any parent this is a must listen to. I wish my parents had read / listened to this when I was a child.
