Great book to understand each other better
This book is excellent for new or mature couples that aren't really feeling connected as they once were. After not being able to put the finger on what was bugging us and discovering what attachment styles are about, we found this book. It has been so enlightening for us both and as long as there is a desire to grow and do better for each other this book will help you put words to feelings and get you to a place that feels new and good again.

Every couple should read this book!
Stan did an amazing job explaining all of his thoughts, ideas and concepts throughout this book. Definitely one I will come back to again.
This book is for every couple, old, young, new; doesn’t matter. Every individual should read this book to get an idea of how the other partner is (island, wave, etc) and how to support each other based on that.
Bottom line is this isn’t you’re typical he said she said book. There is real advice to help maintain and maximize your relationship.
Basically you want to be helping each other. You and them vs the problem. You use each other to be better humans and build each other up. You should be your partners biggest fan and they should be yours.

Would not recommend.
The authors narration was alright and the read was decent overall. However, I did not enjoy the content and thought that the advice given was really poor.
Throughout the chapters, rather than teaching people to improve together, the content suggests enabling people's toxic tendencies and calls it understanding or accepting your partner, in order to make a relationship work. The point that society values and is more accepting of couples than single people was also ridiculous, as he uses a specific example of a couple that commits a criminal act being viewed as less bad than if a single person did the same thing - just ludacris.
I bought this book as it was on sale for $2.50 and was under the impression that it would talk about the science and psychology behind our behaviors on relationships, and was extremely disappointed, even with the great discount.

Why We Love
Tatkin summarizes people into three different personality types; Island, Wave and Anchors. The Island is very independent, enjoys alone time and more or less likes being in a relationship but not very emotional. The Wave loves interaction and needs interaction. The Anchor can be a chameleon and adapt with ease and still be true to themself.
This book helps us understand both more of ourselves and our spouses.

Excellent work
Im a newbie to relationships. And this helped me a lot to understand why they behaved the way they behave.
