Alì Babà è un legnaio molto povero. Un giorno, mentre taglia la legna, sente delle voci. Si nasconde sopra un albero, dal quale ascolta il capo di una banda di 40 ladroni pronunciare la formula magica che permette l'apertura di una caverna: "Apriti, Sesamo!".
