As we know, Ramadan is a sacred month for Muslims. We fast from sunrise to sunset and spend the day performing as many good deeds, voluntary prayers and Qur'an reading as possible. The evenings are busy with breaking our fasts and rushing back to the mosques in order to pray some more. We then end this special month with a joyful celebration called Eid al-Fitr.

Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr are special times of year for Muslims. The holy month of Ramadan is filled with fasting, prayer, and good deeds. Eid al-Fitr is a celebration at the end of Ramadan! Families and friends come together to pray and feast during this important Muslim holiday.

When Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was the Khalifah, he met his governor Nafi at Usfan, a valley near Makkah. Umar asked Nafi who he appointed to lead the people there, and Nafi named Ibn Abza, a former slave. Surprised, Umar questioned the choice. One day, as people passed by the Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he taught them the reward of giving greetings.
