Quella che leggerete è una storia piccola, quasi invisibile. È la storia della mia amicizia con il mio maestro, Giovanni Testori (1923-1993). Se la propongo ai lettori è per due ragioni: la prima è perché essa apre una finestra su uno dei rapporti fondamentali che legano le persone tra loro, il rapporto maestro-discepolo. The name Giotto di Bondone may not be as well-known as Leonardo da Vinci, but it was Giotto who made da Vinci and his contemporaries of the Renaissance possible. Giotto, born in the late 13th century, was the first painter to escape the artistic chains of the Dark Ages and revive the natural art of Ancient Greece. Instead of creating flat, expressionless figures, as was the custom of the Middle Ages, Giotto painted characters with personalities and emotions.

Was Walt Disney a purveyor of homely patriotic values or a representative of American imperialism? He could be said to be the quintessential American. He came from a family of immigrants, he worked his way to the top, and he always had a story to tell. The main theme always running through Disney productions was that of the underdogs and misfits trying to make it against seemingly insurmountable odds.
