Diese hat eh schon alle Hände voll zu tun, ihre Dating-Agentur am Leben und ihren Hund Tolpuddle unter Kontrolle zu halten. Die Dinge nehmen eine überraschende Wendung, als Samson den angeblichen Selbstmord eines Einheimischen untersuchen soll und eine Spur ihn direkt zu Delilah führt.

Samson O'Briens problematische Vergangenheit im Polizeidienst scheint ihn einzuholen: Die ehemaligen Kollegen vernehmen ihn hart in einem Mordfall, und Delilah Metcalfe hat alle Hände voll zu tun, um ihn im ansonsten beschaulichen Bruncliffe in Schutz zu nehmen - bis ihr Neffe von zu Hause wegläuft und es zu einer verzweifelten Suchaktion kommt.
