Or, maybe, they saved it on accident. In any case, they were given credit for saving it. Now, a new old enemy rises and threatens reality itself, and as improbable as it sounds, only Bombo Dawson and Alistair Foley can stop it.

It is the ultimate battle between good and evil. A virus, millions of years old, has been released and is killing all of mankind. As mankind's life is quickly eradicated, a dying homeless man in a Chicago hospital may hold the key to survival. The homeless man's blood is captured in a test tube. How can a dying man's blood save humanity? What will evil do to stop mankind's survival? Is evil really in control of the virus? Can a cure be found before all life is gone?

Sam King, the most decorated and honored homicide detective in the department’s history, is thinking he will retire, as soon as he makes lieutenant. Then, the unthinkable happens, a councilwoman is murdered, the crime of the century for the city, yet King is not involved in the investigation. Instead, his captain has King investigating crimes usually reserved for new detectives. Why? Does the captain know more about the conflicts between King and the councilwomen than he lets on?

In every generation, certain writers are chosen to be protectors of The Legendarium, a metaphysical library that exists at the nexus of the multiverse. Inside this library are doorways that lead to every world ever created in literature. There are forces of evil constantly at work to destroy the library and send the world back into an age of darkness. Now, in a time of growing illiteracy, two heroes are chosen to defend The Legendarium.
