This program is read by the author. When detective Ron Stallworth, the first Black detective in the history of the Colorado Springs Police Department, comes across a classified ad in the local paper asking for all those interested in joining the Ku Klux Klan to contact a PO box, Detective Stallworth does his job and responds with interest, using his real name while posing as a White man. 

Determined to pursue his passion for undercover work wherever it led, Stallworth finally lands in Salt Lake City, UT. Once again, he’s an outsider – not only as a Black man on a mostly white police force but also an unapologetic non-believer in a state dominated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. But soon after his first drug bust in the Beehive, Stallworth makes a startling discovery – Bloods and Crips are infiltrating Mormon Country, threatening to turn the deeply conservative community into a hotbed of crime.

En 1978, Ron Stallworth, el primer detective negro del Departamento de Policía de Colorado Springs, encontró un anuncio clasificado del Ku Klux Klan. Se buscaban interesados en las actividades del grupo, y se rogaba ponerse en contacto a través de un apartado de correos. Stallworth les escribió, usando su nombre real pero haciéndose pasar ser un hombre blanco. Suponía que, en respuesta, recibiría algunos folletos informativos por correo postal, y que de ese modo aprendería un poco más sobre la creciente amenaza terrorista del Klan.
