On the 31st of October 2019, Britain finally didn't quite yet leave the EU. To celebrate this, Matt Lucas and David Walliams returned for a special episode of their much-loved sketch show Little Britain, the hit comedy that moved from radio to TV in 2003, running for three series, and went on to win back-to-back BAFTA awards for best comedy programme. News of the show was kept secret right up to the moment Matt & David walked out on stage to a tremendous roar.

Joining us in the Audible Studios to talk about not one but two recent audio projects is actor and comedian Matt Lucas. Matt is well known for Little Britain and Come Fly with Me but has many more strings to his bow - adding the narration of Charles’ Dickens epic Great Expectations to his achievements, along with performing Fagin in the audio drama Dodge and Twist. At a finished time of 20 hours and 39 minutes long, narrating Great Expectations was no mean feat. It has, though, been met with rave reviews - so time well spent!  

We're joined in the Audible Studios by the award-winning comedian, actor and writer Matt Lucas, to discuss his first autobiography, Little Me: My Life from A-Z. Lucas started his comedy career in the early '90s, working with Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer, before going on to gain major success with co-star David Walliams in Little Britain and Come Fly with Me, for which they won three BAFTAs, three NTAs and two International Emmy Awards.

Leo LOVES Christmas. And this Christmas needs to be absolutely perfect, because it’s the first one without Mum. Only it all keeps going wrong! The fairylights are in a tangle, the tree’s wonky and the Christmas biscuits taste AWFUL. Soon Leo decides he’s had enough – he makes a heartfelt wish that it would all GO AWAY. Down in the ocean lived tickly octopus with eight twisty, twirly tentacles that loved to tickle the fish. Octopus thought tickling was fun! But some of the other sea creatures didn’t like to be tickled. But Octopus thought that tickling was what he did best. One day Octopus tickled Oyster while she was sleeping. Oyster was so startled that she lost her pearl. After apologising, Octopus went in search for Oyster’s pearl and soon discovered that he had many talents other than tickling.

Oh no! Smiley Shark has the biggest hiccups ever! Hic, Hic, Hicuuuuuup! Soon he is doing roly-polies with Starfish, being tickled by Octopus and holding his breath with Pufferfish. But nothing’s working! Will his friends ever put a stop to his big and bothersome hiccups?

Far away in the deep rolling ocean lived Smiley Shark. Smiley Shark longed to dip and dive, jiggle and jive, dart and dash with a splish and a splash with all the other fish; but whenever he smiled at them they swam away. But when all of the other fish are trapped in a fisherman’s net, it’s up to Smiley Shark to find away to free them – and he saves the day with his big, toothy smile!

Snippety-snap! Nipper is a clumsy crab. His huge claws always get in the way! When he tries to play catch-the-bubble with his friends, he accidentally pops the bubble. When everyone plays tag, Nipper trips on one of his claws. And when Nipper and his pals play hide-and-seek, Nipper’s big claws smash his hiding place!

Tiddler was always fidgeting. He wriggled and squiggled, until his mum told him to go out and swim till he was tired. So Tiddler swam out into the deep sea, where he met limpets and jellyfish, he went further till he reached a big, dark cave.
