Publisher's Summary
When it comes to women, I know what they want. And all day long, I give it to them. Dark, broody, and sexy? You got it. Need to laugh? I'm your guy. Desperate for something to put you in the mood? You've come to the right place, kitten.
Every morning when my library opens, there's a line around the block, the ladies flocking to me in need of their next book boyfriend. I'm that dude. The one who knows his way around the romance section. And if you think that hasn't gotten me plenty of action over the years, you'd be wrong.
But I made a slight miscalculation at work, and now my reputation has my job in danger. If I can't prove to my boss that I'm more than a playboy who recommends romance in the hopes of getting some hanky panky in the stacks, I'm headed for the unemployment line.
Enter Parker Elliott. She rocks a mean guitar, she has no idea how sexy she is, and she's in need of a temporary fake boyfriend. Best of all? She doesn't have a library card. I couldn't have found a better fake fiancee if I'd written her myself.
Contains mature themes.

female narrator
Why does she keep freaking screaming? her voice is annoying, sorry to say, her voice is also too old for the role.

Good story, really difficult narration
Narration was so fake it was difficult to hear. I did finish listening because I liked the story and the funny bits.

Absolutely Cringeworthy
Pippa Grant has written a number of light-hearted beach reads. Funny dialogue is her strength. This book shows none of her usual skill and is missing a plot. It is a series of sexual encounters over a two month period. The heroine is pushing 40 but comes off as a angsty teenager who is still dealing with the trauma of high school. At that age if you have to use dozens of ridiculous euphemisms for vagina (including hoo-ha multiple times) there is definitely something wrong. She puts herself down so much it is hard to imagine what the younger hero really sees in her when her life goals are opposite to his. This is a 30 year old male who lives with his grandmother to save money. When Grandma is the most appealing character, there is a real issue.
The book is little more than an advertisement for Grant's favorite authors. More effort was put into name dropping than creating a plot.
The male narrator was okay, but the female narrator was much too angsty in her delivery. I felt sorry for her though, having to read the absolutely ridiculous dialogue and reiterating the "woe is me" trope that was repeated ad nauseam.
