Story
Cedric the Brown is a wizard with a dark past. In an effort to make amends, he hides in plain sight among the residents of a space station he once nearly destroyed. Cut adrift by a bankrupt megacorp, the mobile mining station sets off to uncharted space in a desperate attempt to scrape by. What they stumbled onto would change the course of the galaxy. A planet. A lost alien race. A secret that will lead to all-out war. How will a station filled with scoundrels and crewed by former miners handle being the fulcrum of history?

When Alice Verianna went to sleep, she was just another teen from the Denver suburbs. She definitely didn't expect to be transported to a magical alternate dimension, inhabited by monsters and presided over by a mysterious System. Here, people resemble RPG characters and everyone has access to their own status screens. Grappling with the mechanics of the elusive System isn't the only challenge Alice faces. It seems an underground organization known as the Society of Starry Eyes has taken a particular interest in other dimensions.

After dying and being reborn into a world that's built like a video game, Jim has found himself stuck in a very old-world style new-player zone for low-level adventurers. Unfortunately, the zone fell out of use centuries ago, and no one told the monsters they were supposed to take it easy on the Noobs. Even worse, the only new player around is Jim. Jim has been given an opportunity, and he'll do his best to take advantage of it.

It seemed the unthinkable had happened. Someone had actually targeted the Ghalian, an order of assassins known and feared across the systems. It was madness. Only a fool would go after the likes of them. But, it seemed, the galaxy had no shortage of fools. Retaliation most bloody was in order, and one man stood ready to spring into action. Hozark was his name, and he was no ordinary man. He was a Master Ghalian, an assassin skilled in the ways of death. Practical, mechanical, magical, to him it made no difference.

Publisher's Summary
The galaxy’s worst bounty hunter just might be its most relentless hero.
Esper Richelieu is a wizard with a mission: To make the galaxy a better place one lost soul at a time.
Donning the trappings of an interstellar bounty hunter, she delves into the galaxy’s underworld to search out those most in need of help. Whether it’s a teenage runaway or an actor kidnapped by cultists, the victim comes first.
Money is an afterthought. That confuses a lot of clients.
But sometimes the best way to get someone to accept the help they need is to convince them to pay for it. Other times, clients unwittingly fund their own reparations by hiring the last person who’d want to aid them in continuing their wicked ends.
But are pure intentions enough against the vilest forces in the galaxy?

Very nice magician stories.
I really like the Galaxy outlaw series. When I saw this book series of Esper venturing out into her own. I kinda got a little excited and had high hopes. However though, It's not the same Esper as in the previous series. The author gave the lead character a huge "goody two shoes" morality boost. Although majority of the book is Esper being a goody goody two-shoe, the author does explore other avenues about her potential character flaws. So in general the book has its ups and downs and some sections just drags on for like ever, but overall I did enjoy it. Wesley Wesley and Kubo are my favorite. Potty mouth Tiffany not so much.
Mikael Naramore does an excellent job of reading the book, and if it wasn't for him I would probably given the overall book score one less star.

Sci-fi, wizards and Crime. What could go wrong?
Esper went from my least favourite character in the black ocean Moebius Missions (listen to them, they're awesome) to the leader of her own scrappy gang of do-gooding criminals. Love the stories and Naramore's soothing, yet expressive, narration!

Scooby Doo Mysteries for Adults
I listen to many different genres. Historical to post apocalyptic. To get away from the serious, these books do just that.
Fun, entertaining, full of action and humor. These made me laugh out loud, a lot.
Around the 3rd or 4th mission I was struck with the thought that these reminded me of Scooby Doo when I was a kid. These are not childish, don't get me wrong. The characters, the good guys prevail, the lack of seriousness is what matters. The language, sexual connotations and the "mysteries" are anything but child friendly.
I thought after 90 plus hours, I'd be happy to move along to something else. I was wrong. I love the lightheartedness of these books.
