Story
People ask me how come I'm still alive, and I don't know what to say. When I was growing up, if you'd have put me up against a wall with the other kids from my street and asked me which one of us was gonna make it to the age of 60, with five kids and four grandkids and houses in Buckinghamshire and California, I wouldn't have put money on me, no f--king way. But here I am: ready to tell my story, in my own words, for the first time. A lot of it ain't gonna be pretty. I've done some bad things in my time. But I ain't the devil.

Story
With over 70 million records sold, Black Sabbath, dubbed by Rolling Stone “the Beatles of heavy metal,” helped create the genre itself, with their distinctive heavy riffs, tuned down guitars, and apocalyptic lyrics. Bassist and primary lyricist Geezer Butler played a gigantic part in the band’s renown, from suggesting the band name to using his fascination with horror, religion, and the occult to compose the lyrics and build the foundation of heavy metal as we know it. In Into the Void, Butler tells his side of the story.

Publisher's Summary
Fueled by an explosive mix of makeup, costumes, and attitude, KISS burst onto the music scene 30 years ago and has become a rock institution. The band has sold more than 80 million records, has broken every concert attendance record set by Elvis Presley and the Beatles, stands behind the Beatles alone in number of gold records from any group in history, and has spawned more than 2,500 licenses.
There would have been no KISS without Gene Simmons, the outrageous star whose superlong tongue, legendary sexual exploits, and demonic makeup have made him a rock icon. KISS and Make-Up is the wild, shocking, unbelievable story, from the man himself, about how an immigrant boy from Israel studied to be a rabbi, was saved by rock and roll, and became one of the most notorious rock stars the world has ever seen.

Fantastic Book
I thoroughly enjoyed this book . Sorry Gene , I wasn’t a kiss fan growing up . Not because you weren’t a great band but because of my lack of exposure . My two cousins in Nl , Canada introduced me to the band when I visited . Coincidentally , where your wife Shannon is from . I became a Gene Simmons fan after first watching Family Jewels . I loved watching this huge rock star , humanized . I loved watching you around your kids , how both you and Shannon were such great parents . I also loved your business sense . You are a smart guy ! I related to your commitment issues , obviously on a much smaller scale ! Lol! Until I met the strong , beautiful wife I am settled with now , I searched for a long time . Loved the rock and roll stories . A life well lived ! Great book !!!

Amazing Book
I recently listened to Paul Stanley's Face The Music and had to get Kiss and Make-Up right after. Both are great although, I found Paul's to be a bit more descriptive, especially when it came to parts about albums and their writing. Overall, a fantastic book that any KISS fan will love.

Something tells me that Gene voted for Trump.
I like the band but am not such a big fan of Gene Simmons. It is half Gene's biography and half stories about drunk/drugged guys from the perspective of a sober person.

Classic Gene
This book was what anyone would expect from Gene Simmons. A story about how much sex he had and how much money he made. It wasn’t terrible but he sounded like he was reading it for the first time.
