Always a pleasure

Read this when I was much younger and it still fascinates. I believe it is why I dreamt of high snow-capped mountains and Tibet. Just in general, though, I feel that I need some input on the ending. I don't remember this from when I was younger and now am wondering if Conway did return to Shangri-la?

Great listen to a dreamy book by a grest writer

This is no run-of-the-mill audio recording. Of the nooooomerous titles i have revisted through this medium, this is my fave to date. No overacting or missteps in pronunciation. The educated narrator seemingly pages through a well-thimbed text with just the right gravitas-- the occasional audible whiff of his breath adds to the recording's authenticity. The narrator's timing, his subtle accents, stresses and characters are bang-on. The narrator does this classic novel a great justice.

Shangri-La Classic, but not for me

I bought this book since it was a classic, that was the original the Shangri-La concept. Unfortunately since it was more war time oriented, I lost interest, and kept skipping ahead chapter by chapter. I thought the narrator was ok, contrary to some other reviews.
