Story
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

For a thousand years the ash fell and no flowers bloomed. For a thousand years the Skaa slaved in misery and lived in fear. For a thousand years the Lord Ruler, the "Sliver of Infinity," reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror, divinely invincible. Then, when hope was so long lost that not even its memory remained, a terribly scarred, heart-broken half-Skaa rediscovered it in the depths of the Lord Ruler's most hellish prison.

I tell them I was orphaned after a tragic accident three years ago, and that good fortune alone has led to my acceptance into their most prestigious school. I tell them that once I graduate, I will gladly join the rest of civilized society in allowing my strength, my drive, and my focus—what they call Will—to be leeched away and added to the power of those above me, as millions already do. Publisher's Summary
"Powerhouse narrating duo Michael Kramer and Kate Reading bring their outstanding skills to this stunning continuation of the Stormlight Archive series... This audiobook is truly a masterpiece of story and performance." (AudioFile Magazine, Earphones Award winner)
An instant number-one New York Times best seller and a USA Today and Indie best seller!
The Stormlight Archive saga continues in Rhythm of War, the eagerly awaited sequel to Brandon Sanderson's number-one New York Times best-selling Oathbringer, from an epic fantasy writer at the top of his game.
After forming a coalition of human resistance against the enemy invasion, Dalinar Kholin and his Knights Radiant have spent a year fighting a protracted, brutal war. Neither side has gained an advantage, and the threat of a betrayal by Dalinar’s crafty ally Taravangian looms over every strategic move.
Now, as new technological discoveries by Navani Kholin’s scholars begin to change the face of the war, the enemy prepares a bold and dangerous operation. The arms race that follows will challenge the very core of the Radiant ideals, and potentially reveal the secrets of the ancient tower that was once the heart of their strength.
At the same time that Kaladin Stormblessed must come to grips with his changing role within the Knights Radiant, his Windrunners face their own problem: As more and more deadly enemy Fused awaken to wage war, no more honorspren are willing to bond with humans to increase the number of Radiants. Adolin and Shallan must lead the coalition’s envoy to the honorspren stronghold of Lasting Integrity and either convince the spren to join the cause against the evil god Odium, or personally face the storm of failure.

Featured Article: The Best Female Narrators You Can Listen To All Day
When considering a new audiobook, one of the biggest questions listeners have is whether they’ll enjoy the narration style. This is understandable as audiobooks span at least a few hours, and sticking with one person’s voice for that period can feel like a big commitment. Luckily, there are so many excellent voice actors performing audiobooks that you might just find yourself gravitating to certain audiobooks based solely on the narrator’s strength.

Journey over destination
Yet another great addition to the series, with lots of twists and turns. The characters come to life and are so relatable. Their inner struggles are the ones that matter most and the book challenges these thoughtful characters in ingenious ways. We get to see how many such a variety of heroic behaviours through tough decisions from both the villains and the protagonists.

Giving you the run around
First off, the narration is superb as always, however this book has some issues. Rhythm of War has some good moments, but story arks are stretched out to unnecessary proportions and the book takes it's sweet time getting to the point. The book can get quite boring because of just how long it goes around itself till it decides it's time to move on.

Best of the series! (so far)
Book 4 continues the journey of flipping the reader's perspectives on familiar sci-fi and fantasy tropes. It is inventive and compelling, but most of all Rhythm of War is a profoundly humanizing and emotional treatment of the experience of purpose, loss, struggle and trauma.
Sanderson's treatment of the climax to the journeys of Shalon and Caledon is an emotional roller coaster and literally brought tears as I listened.
Thank you Brandon for this astounding gift!
Thank you Micheal Kramer and Kate Reading for bringing it so vividly to life!

A Welcome Continuation
RoW is yet another marvel of world and character building.
Not only does it dive deeper into the excitement and mysteries of the previous Stormlight Archive titles, but also Sanderson's Cosmere as well.
It's always a painful wait between titles in this series, but as always Sanderson delivers.
Consider the masterful voice recordings of Michael Kramer and Kate Reading, true veterans in the Audiobook field and there is no reason not to clear your schedule. Prepare to dive deep and experience everything except disappointment.

A fine addition to the Stormlight Archive. I don't know if I will enjoy the expansion of the story world to cosmic proportions but that's for another day. The way Sanderson has sewn up old plot points and conflicts leaves me satisfied. His setup for future happenings has left me content to wait.

a masterpiece rollercoaster that wouldn't stop
I think my favorite book so far. the depth of characters, the freedom of their development away from any stereotypes, the detail of their struggles and human-ness, was relatable and inspiring. I had no idea where this story would take me and it thrilled me. My favorite characters back again and just when I thought I couldn't love them more, Sanderson found a way! He keeps finding new messes and challenges to throw them into- just when I think they'll never make it with *those* odds, Sanderson throws even more at them. Perfectly thrown to flip things around at the last second and keep me craving more.
