Publisher's Summary

If you were 99 years old and on your deathbed and were given a chance to come back to today, what would you do right now?

Matt Dahlia was a recent college grad with no direction in his life: his business was dead on arrival and all his friends had left town. He was broke and searching for belonging in a world that didn’t understand him. That is, until he serendipitously met Thomas, who not only felt the same way he did, but had a project in mind: Together, along with two more like-minded strangers, they were going to move into a one-bedroom apartment and film themselves doing 30 things they had never done before in 30 days.

That summer project changed their lives forever: it pushed them out of their comfort zones, bonded them for life, and allowed them to reach a wide audience online. Their journey would eventually become Yes Theory, a massive movement of millions of people living by the philosophy of seeking discomfort.

In this memoir, Matt reveals the extreme highs and lows of Yes Theory, sharing his own along the way. This is a story about the sacrifices it takes to make a dream come true, what happens when a small group of friends suddenly have the attention of millions of strangers online, and what it means to say goodbye when everything seems to be going so well.

But most of all, it’s a reminder to ask yourself that most important question: what do you want out of life?

I love it!

I've been a Yes Theory follower for a while and couldn't be more pleased with the book. Even if you haven't been a subscriber the story is amazing. A must read!

Matt’s story is incredible

I’ve been following Yes Theory for a long time (before Bieber burrito, haha). Hearing Matt’s story was so interesting because you only see one side of his life when you watch the videos, but this really explains a lot of the questions I’ve had regarding Matt’s decision to leave, and so much more.
Matt if you happen to read this, you and the whole Yes Theory group are idols to me. Every time I watch your videos I’m inspired, so thanks for that.

A story of real people who pushed themselves beyond what was comfortable

As a fan of Yes Theory for the last 6 years this book was a perfect summary and look into the lives of the people we so often see on the screen. There is so much to love and experience here, regardless if you knew about them before or are going into this blind. It’s not too long and still makes you feel connected to everyone involved, including a great narration from Matt himself.

Inspired

It’s really insightful and honest about the yes theory channel as well as just real life struggles people go though.

Raw & inspiring.

Matt really came through! I respect the journey it’s taken for him to write this book, and him being so incredibly open about it. A book I’ve listened to, now purchased to have the physical copy - it’s just that good. Thank you Matt, and thank you, Yes Theory. 🫶

A Beautiful Story of Becoming

Loved this book. From Matt’s narration, to the crazy highs and lows of his story. It has inspired me to look deeper within myself and ask what I really want to do in life. I would highly recommend.

Honesty and raw

The final essay by Matt really tied in together all the themes that were discussed in the beginning of the book. It truly was an enjoyable experience to support this story in an audio format and I’m glad k decided to listen to Matt share his story with his voice, rather than read it.

Dream come true

I’ve watched since project 30, so to see this book come out not only as a book, but also an audiobook read by the man himself is pretty unreal. This feels like you can be a part of both Yes Theory as they grow from nothing, as well as see Matt as Matt, and not as “Matt from Yes Theory”. Really special read after following the growth of this idea over the years. Hope to run into Matt traveling one day for a game of discomfort.

Great telling of the formation of Yes Theory

Made even better by being read by the author and former Yes Theory alum! I only wish there was more of it.
Thanks Matt!
