Publisher's Summary

He's That Guy.

You know, the hero in almost every romance novel. The super-rich, powerful CEO who is beyond sexy. Lives in a penthouse. Is wicked in bed. Has massive.... feet. Is kind of a jerk, but really he's not because he harbors some major secret that, once revealed, explains why he is the way he is - therefore completely redeeming himself and making all the listeners who hated to love him swoon....

Yeah. That one.

Well, I found him.

I'm a writer who has spent years searching for the perfect muse.

Now that I know he exists, I have a mission.

To make him fall in love with me.

This should be easy. I mean, I have issues, but above all, I'm a great catch.

Problem is, I did a stupid thing.

And now he hates me.

Unfortunately for him, he's my That Guy.

And he's going to love me....

Whether he wants to or not.

laugh out loud funny and sweet

This was my first Kim Jones book and I have no idea how I have missed out for so long.

I listened to this book in my car and I'm sure I made more than a few fellow motorists nervous as I hysterically laughed my way down the road.

Kim Jones has a wonderful way of painting a scene in my head and tugging at emotions. I truly enjoyed this book so I'm going to scoot and find more of her stuff.

So freaking funny!! 🤣😂

This was a new author for me. Such a fun, hilarious listen! I was laughing out loud constantly. I loved Penelope’s moments of thinking something and then realizing she said it out loud! They were told good! Looking forward to book #2!

The story was portrayed very well from the female point of view. I was disappointed that the male voice was not used throughout the performance but only in the last chapter.
In my opinion if the male voice was a true male voice, the story would have been more solid and much more entertaining.

Crass

The story line is uninteresting, the language foul and performance is 3rd rate. I couldn’t get past the third chapter.

Terrible Main Character

DNF. Made it through exactly 2 hours 21 minutes and 37 seconds of this dreadful audiobook.

I hated the main character. She was annoying, rude, immature and entitled (getting mad at the main male character for being rude to her when she broke into HIS house, went through HIS things and put on HIS clothes. Like who do you think you are???); all the things I hate in a person. And the narrator did a great job of making sure I hated this character (which, I think, kind of makes the narrator really great in a way - it wasn’t them, it was the character who sucked, even if I wasn’t supposed to hate them [I honestly have no idea if the author wrote the character that way on purpose]).

I stopped listening when the character basically sexually assaulted the main male character, throwing herself drunkenly at him and kissing him and then BLAMING HIM for making the kiss bad for her when he didn’t reciprocate. Like girl, f*ck you, you selfish, self-entitled little brat. If this were written in the reverse and the man had come onto the woman like that and was behaving the same way, no one would be here for it. Heroines like this in other books usually have some sort of redeeming quality, but this character has none whatsoever. So why are we 5-staring this??? I guess I’ll never know and I absolutely don’t care to find out.
