Story
Statistics show that 50 percent of what determines divorce is genetic temperament. And, if you are one of the 20 percent of people who are born highly sensitive, the risk of an unhappy relationship is especially high. Your finely tuned nervous system, which picks up on subtleties and reflects deeply, would be a romantic asset if both you and your partner understood you better. But without that understanding, your sensitivity is likely to be making your close relationships painful and complicated.

Informative, but dry.
Some comforting advice, but mostly very clinical. Personally, I'm sure I buy into the concept.

Good intro to understanding HSP
There were times when it felt like the authour was droning on but if you take the time and listen there are points when you find some very useful nuggets of information. To be honest it felt at times being an HSP sounded pretentious and very high maintenance but that may be the case for people who are very highly sensitive. There were times when I agreed with the story and point that was made. I'd like to re-read this book in digital format to go over anything I might of missed. This sort of audio book you must pay full attention to because it's easy to miss out on a lot points being made.

The word Aroused used way too much!
Decent book overall but her use of the word Aroused was not only way way too much but very unnecessary. So many other words to use and she literally said this word I think over 200 times

Good material for sensitive people!
I really liked the material. It was a game changer and helps reframe my past.
I dislike the snooty sounding narrator and this book has way too many comments that encourage “spiritual paths” and theology. That’s a quick way to lose creditability with me.

Thank you for permission to exist exactly as I am.
Knowledge is power. We don’t know what we don’t know, so we must remain open to knowledge in all forms if we are to succeed in this harsh world. 27/27 Highly sensitive person here, dubbing this my new bible. I feel seen and validated. I feel like I have a right to exist on this planet. I feel more secure in what it means to be me. I feel less alien. I wish I could have been interviewed for this book. I wish this was mandatory reading for all children, for all involved in education and employment, for health care practitioners and family and friends, and everyone on this planet. I will suggest this book to literally anyone who will listen and I’ll never stop speaking highly about it. My life is forever changed because of the work in this book. I will be dedicating my life to helping other sensitive people feel seen and heard, validated, and encouraging everyone else to rethink the way they see and treat sensitive people. This information is vital and must be shared extensively and universally. Thank you Dr. Aron.
